Why I Wanted to Build a Space for Slow Craft
There are seasons in life when the world feels loud and fast and a little heavier than it should. During one of those seasons, I picked up a needle and thread and everything slowed down. The rhythm, the color, the tiny stitches that somehow add up to something beautiful. It gave my mind a quiet place to land, and I realized how many people are craving that same feeling.
The Parkville Needlepoint House grew out of that moment. I wanted to build a space where people can come in, take a breath, and remember that it is good to make something slowly. A place where screens are set aside for a while. A place where hands move, conversations wander, and the simple act of stitching feels like a reset.
Needlepoint is timeless. It connects generations, sparks creativity, and invites people to slow down for a little while. Creating a home for that in Parkville felt right. It felt like something our community would love and something I needed too. I hope everyone who steps inside feels that same calm and joy that needlepoint gave me. Then, like all things go for me, I started to mood board.
